Milestone Global was formally known as `Sangeeta Granites`. The company was established in the year 1991.
The company is a 100% export oriented unit (EOU) exclusively engaged in the manufacture of granite monuments, tombstones, and memorials with an installed capacity of 4,500 mt. It obtained 100% EOU status in the year 1993. The company switched its line from granite tiles and slabs to granite monuments since 1993-94.
Besides the Indian granites, it carries South African, Norwegian and Finnish granites. It exports granite memorials to U.K, U.S.A, Europe, Germany and New Zealand. The company has also executed projects line war memorials and town center squares in the USA, Ireland, UK and the UAE.
The company set up Milestone Global UK for the purpose of offering services to its customers in United Kingdom. Milestone Global will adopt the manufacture to consumer model (M2C), which will ensure deliveries for custom designed memorials within 6 to 8 weeks as against 12 to 14 weeks from other importers.
It maintains more than 30 colors of granites in stock. Apart from manufacturing standard monuments for its customers, it has also specialized in the manufacture of customer specific monuments. The customer specific special monuments form over 60% of Milestone Global`s production.
The company also undertook to set up two showrooms at Paris, California and Cocksville, Maryland for retail sales.
Financials
The company registered decline in revenue by 14.71% from Rs 29.44 million in December 2005 to Rs 25.11 million in December 2006. It posted decline in net profit by 55.93% to Rs 0.26 million from Rs 0.59 million in December 2005.
During the year ended March 2006, the company`s turnover amounted to Rs 124.08 million, as against Rs 127.77 million in 2005, resulting in a fall of 2.88%. It posted a decline in net profit by 33.63% to Rs 2.19 million in 2006 from Rs 3.3 million in 2005.
