The total availability of the new guar seed crop is estimated to be around 35-38 lakh bags. Besides, the continuous supply amid poor demand from guargum manufactures and exporters mainly pulled down the futures prices. It later rose after the weather department said monsoon, a key driver for the crop, has lost pace.

Rajasthan's guar acreage is likely to fall 9.74 percent in 2009/10 crop year. Guar acreage is seen at 2.5 million hectares this year down from 2.77 million hectares last year. Rajasthan accounts for 70 percent of country's guar output.
