Gold ended higher due to a dollar drop and as investors increased buying after the U.S. futures regulator said it would review possible position limits on gold and silver.


Crude oil ended lower weighed down by ample petroleum inventories and as the latest retail sales and jobless claims data fueled more worries about the U.S economic recovery.
