India's annual monsoon rains may be weak further, as per the monsoon prediction monsoon models. Monsoon rains are key drivers for the crop. Traders are very sensitive to monsoon movement.

Guar seed, which is mainly produced in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana in the northern and western part of the country, is said to have a 10 percent fall in acreage in the upcoming sowing season.

The global downturn had its impact on the prices of guar seeds and guar gum, used as an emulsifier in commercial food processing.
