Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren Limited (WGSRL) has reported a fall in net profits for the quarter ended September 2008. Apart from lower realizations of the pipes, additional overheads & lower capacity utilization dented the margins & the profitability of the company.

Welspun Gujarat has reported an impressive growth of 57.5% in net sales to Rs 1,493 crore while it’s PAT declined 21% from Rs 82.5 crore in Q2FY08 to Rs 65.3 in Q2FY09. OPM has also dipped by 570 bps from 16.2% to 10.5%. EPS for the quarter stood at Rs 3.5 as against Rs 4.8 in Q2FY08.
