Aptech (APTECH) is a global learning solutions company. It was incorporated on Nov. 20, 1992, and got its current name on Aug. 5, 1996. The chairman of the company is Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and Pramod Khera, the CEO and managing director.
The company operates in the business lines of IT education and training (Aptech Computer Education), multimedia education and training (Arena Multimedia), aviation training (Avalon Aviation Academy), offshore content development (Aptech Learning Services), e-learning (Onlinevarsity.com), testing and assessment solutions for corporates and institutions (Aptech Training Solutions & ATTEST), developer training and consultancy (Synergetics), and manpower services. Aptech has 246 centers in 24 provinces across 80 cities. It has recently opened a new center in Santacruz, Mumbai. It has launched new courses like SSi Job Quotient and NPower.
Aptech is an ISO 9001:2000 organization and was the first IT training and education organization in Asia to receive the ISO 9001 quality certification for education support services in 1993. Through Arena, it launched animation-training courses. The Aptech Beida Jadebird has won China`s top 10 outstanding franchise brand award, given by ministry of commerce, Government of China. The company has featured amongst TrainingOutsourcing.com`s Top 20 global training outsourcing service provider (OSP) companies for the 2nd consecutive year. It also won the Indian Global Franchisor of the Year award & Win-win Franchising Partnership of the Year award. The company has a presence across five continents and has trained over 4.5 million students globally.

Aptech registered a 31.87% growth in net profit to Rs 16.88 million for the quarter ended June 2007 from a profit of Rs 12.8 million for the quarter ended June 2006.
Net sales quarter rose 10.1% to Rs 240.12 million for the quarter ended June 2007 from Rs 218.1 million for the quarter ended June 2006.
Total income rose 8.35% to Rs 240.43 million for the quarter ended June 2007 from Rs 221.9 million for the quarter ended June 2006.
The earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at Rs 0.39 for the quarter ended June 2007.

The shareholding of UBS Securities Asia - A/c Swiss Finance Corporation (Mauritius) after the said acquisition is 1,895,302 shares aggregating to 5.0067% of the total share capital of Aptech.
