Auro Laboratories (AUROLAB) is a manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), intermediates and generic formulations. It was incorporated as a private limited company on May 26, 1989 and converted into a public limited company on Jan. 13, 1994.
The ISO 9001:2000 and WHO - cGMP certified company focuses on anti-diabetic drugs like metformin hydrochloride and glibenclamide; undertakes toll/custom manufacturing for APIs and intermediates on contract basis. In APIs it offers clorpheniramine mleate (antihistamine); chlorzoxazone (muscle relaxant); frusemide (diyuretic; ferrous fumarate (iron deficiency); fluconazole, ketoconazole and miconazole (anti fungal); omeprazole (anti ulcer); potassium iodate (iodine supplement); chloroquine phosphate (anti malaria); tramadol (analgesic); aluminium hydroxide gel and magnesium hydroxide (antacid); diclofenac sodium (anti inflammatory); others including potassium iodide, sodium iodide and microcrystalline cellulose; and specialty chemicals including guanidine nitrate, dimethyl amine, 2-ethoxy benzoic acid, and 3,4,5, trimethoxy benzoic acid. Intermediates include glibenclamde sulphonamide, 5-bromo phthalide and others.
The manufacturing facility is located in Tarapur, Maharashtra with an installed capacity in excess of 500 TPA. The company has achieved a Certificate Of Suitability (COS) from the European Directorate of Quality Medicine (EDQM) in 2006. It received approval from the FDA for Metformin Hydrochloride in 2007. Bulk of the production is exported to South East Asia, Middle East, and European countries including Egypt, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, Brazil, Germany, United Kingdom and Spain among others.
The registered office of the company is located at K-56, M.I.D.C. Industrial Area, Tarapur, Boisar, Thane district, Maharashtra.
