Emami (EMAMI) is in the business of manufacturing personal, beauty and healthcare products. Established in the year 1974, it was known as Himani and got its present name on Oct. 30, 1998. The company is part of the Emami group, which has business interests in writing materials, healthcare services, paper and retail, besides personal and healthcare. Other group companies include CRI, Advanced Medicare & Research Institute, Emami Paper Mills, and Emami Shoppers` City.
The ISO 9001:2000 certified company manufactures herbal and ayurvedic products through the use of modern scientific laboratory practices. It has a product mix comprising of over 20 products, the major being Boroplus Antiseptic Cream, Bororplus Prickly Heat Powder, Sona Chandi Chyawanprash and Amritprash, Navratna Oil, Mentho Plus Pain Balm, Fast Relief, Madhuri Range of Products, and Golden Beauty Talc among other products. The international product portfolio is broadly divided into Emami ? skincare products consisting of skin care, hair care, dental care and men`s care products; Himani - OTC medicines; Ayucare - lifestyle enhancing products like food supplements, neem & aloe vera range; and Emma - customized products as per specific needs.
The manufacturing units are located in Kolkata, Pondicherry, Guwahati and Mumbai. The company has offices across 27 Indian cities with a well established sales network consisting of 2182 direct distributors and over 386,940 retail outlets. Emami also markets its products to over 50 countries spanning across SAARC, Gulf, CIS, North America, Europe and Africa.
