Polygenta Technologies (PTL) was incorporated in 1981 as `Maskara Polytex` to manufacture polyester textured and twisted yarn. In the year 1988, the company set up a texturising and twisting unit at Murbad.

Presently, the company deals in polyester filament chips, partially oriented yarns, color televisions and audio hi-fi systems.

The company has currently two manufacturing facilities, one at Murbad, Kalyan and the other at Awankhed, Nashik; both in Maharashtra. However, the Murbad unit is close since January 2000. The company is also looking at the possibility of selling the unit as per directions from the BIFR.

Financials
During the quarter ended December 2006, the company posted a loss of Rs 5.84 million, as against profit of Rs 6.36 million in the previous year.
