Hero Honda Motors Ltd, (HHML) the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer for the ninth consecutive year, has eported net sales of Rs 4092 crore, showing a growth of 20%. PAT was at Rs 598.8 crore, up by 48.9% over the orresponding period of last year. Operating margin was at 17.3% as against 16.0%. Total unit sales for Q3 stands at ,186, 536 units, reporting a growth of 19%. Raw material costs as a percentage of sales improved from 68.7% to 67.2% YOY while . Sales realizations per unit improved by Rs 300 to Rs 34,492 per vehicle skewing volumes in avour of higher priced bikes.
For the entire year, HHML reported growth of 27.9% in net sales to Rs 15,758 crore, whereas its profits grew by 74% o Rs 2,232 crore. Against the company's initial outlook of 4 million unit sales for 2009-10, the sales grew 24 per cent to 4.6 million units. The growth was due to a combination of the Government's fiscal stimulus, the availability of cheap financing and the low base effect from the previous fiscal.
