Mid-Day Mulimedia (MIDDAY) has business interests in newspapers, radio, television and Internet content. The company was incorporated in 1981.
The company operates through its divisions of news media and radio. It publishes Mumbai`s leading afterenoon newspaper Mid Day. It owns four newspapers in three languages called Mid Day, Sunday Mid Day, Gujarati Mid Day, and The Inquilab. The company has launched Mid-day in Bangalore and has reacquired Delhi Mid-day. It has its online version called mid-day.com which covers all city news, entertainment and sport.
The radio division has presence in four cities including Mumbai. It launched three new stations in Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai and has planned to launch new stations in Pune, Ahmedabad, and Kolkota. It has radio programs like Annie, Prachi, Sangram, Malini, Prince, Bacardi Breezer Vivid Nights, Spill Your Dil, Sunday Morning Classics, Rahul, and Bollywood Top 30. Interactive programs include College Champions, Club ONE, Winners, Forum, Requests, Vote, Birthdays, Loyal Listeners, and Hot Shots. The company has it TV program and broadcasting unit and has released the movie Black Friday in 2007.
The company was awarded the Silver Award in the Newspaper Premiums/Incentives category for the MiD DAY Diary by INMA in 2006. Subsidiaries include Radio Mid Day West (India), Mid-Day Broadcasting South (India), Mid-Day Radio North (India), and Mid-Day Outdoor.
