Patni Computer Systems (PATNI) is a leading provider of information technology services. It was incorporated as a private limited company on Feb. 10, 1978 and converted into a public limited company on Sep. 18, 2003.
The range of services offered by the company include application development, application maintenance and support, packaged software implementation, infrastructure management services, product engineering, business process outsourcing and quality assurance services. This comprehensive range of IT services is delivered through globally integrated onsite client locations in USA, Europe, Japan, Asia Pacific and the rest of the world and offshore delivery locations primarily in India. In FY07, a net area of 312,000 sq. ft. of space was added in Mumbai and Hyderabad. Land was acquired in Noida, Pune, Hyderabad and Kolkata in addition to land owned in Mumbai and Chennai. The first Green IT-BPO knowledge center in Noida has already been launched. This facility has a seating capacity of over 3,500 and is spread across 5 acres. All development centers have been assessed at SEI-CMMI Level 5.
Recent awards include the prestigious Golden Peacock National Training Award (GPNTA) for 2007, recognizing excellence in training practices. The company has acquired Microsoft Gold Partner Certification status with business intelligence as one of its key competencies. It has partnered with Schindler, a leading global mobility company to provide development, enhancement, and test services for Schindler`s double-deck elevator. As on Dec. 31, 2007, 37 new clients were added taking the active base to 318 clients. Presence in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific has been established through 24 sales offices. In FY08, it was appointed by international healthcare organization Bupa to provide a managed service for its core business applications. The company reported a growth in standalone net profit for the quarter ended March 2009. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 19.22% to Rs 853.50 million from Rs 715.92 million in the same quarter last year. Net sales for the quarter rose 27.55% to Rs 4,151.70 million, while total income for the quarter rose 25.03% to Rs 4,274.2 million, when compared with the prior year period. It posted earnings of Rs 6.66 a share during the quarter, registering 29.32% growth over previous year period.
