Pentasoft Technologies was formerly known as `Pentafour Communications`. It is a Chennai - based software solutions provider. The company operates in three business divisions, namely, the enterprise division, education and training division and engineering division.
The enterprise division consists of banking and financial services, insurance, enterprise wide solutions, e-business and e-commerce solutions and systems integration. The systems integration unit, which is part of the enterprise division, offers total information technology solutions by interfacing software hardware, networking, implementation, customization and maintenance of general software applications.
The education and training division provides professional and IT training and net based learning. The engineering division offers services ranging from concept design, CAD solid modelling analysis, digitization services, map creation and application development in GIS, software development, multi layered graphics and animation and web site designing. This division is also into electronic data management services responsible for executing projects relating to drawing and map conversions and supply chain management.
Financials
For the quarter ended December 2006, the company reported 2.78 times growth in net profits at Rs 2.5 million, as against Rs 0.9 million during the corresponding quarter in the previous year. The sales for this period declined by 35.8% to Rs 14 million, as against Rs 21.8 million.
For the year ended March 2006, the company registered 70.9% decline in net profits at Rs 7.1 million, as against Rs 24.4 million during the previous year ended March 2005. Sales for this period declined by 71.2% to Rs 160.8 million as against Rs 558.8 million.
The company`s EPS for the year ended March 2006 stood at Rs 0.04.
Future Plans
Pentasoft Technologies is planning to invest Rs 1 billion for setting up multiplexes in II and III tier cities of the country in the next two years.
