Ras Propack Lamipac produces laminated tubes that find application in packing products like toothpaste, hair-care products, pharmaceuticals and paints. The company is a joint venture of Propack Holdings of Switzerland, Ras Extrusions and KMK Maschinen of Switzerland, with Propack providing technical knowhow and KMK providing equipment. The company`s plant is located at Chakan in Maharashtra.

Laminated tubes combine the feel of plastic tubes and the protective properties of metal tubes. Ras Propack was able to get orders from reputed companies like Hindustan Lever, Balsara Hygiene Products and Dabur. The company`s products were also exported to CIS countries of Europe. It had become one of the top suppliers of laminated tubes in the country.

However, the company had become potentially sick within five years and is incurring continuing losses now. It has been declared a sick company by BIFR and is awaiting approval for a rehabilitation package.

The company`s registered office is at Chakan in Maharashtra.

Financials
Ras Propack Lamipack reported that loss for the quarter ended June 2007 has narrowed.Net Sales declined 54.28% to Rs 12.59 million for the quarter ended June 2007 from Rs 27.54 million for the quarter ended June 2006.Total income dipped 43.47% to Rs 15.63 million, from Rs 27.65 million for the quarter ended June 2006.The earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at Rs 0.72 in the quarter ended June 2007 .
