Taj GVK Hotels and Resorts (TAJGVKHR) is a joint venture of the Taj and GVK groups. Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), the Tata group firm owning the Taj Group of Hotels, holds around 25.52% stake in the Taj-GVK combine. TAJGVKHR has been promoted by Krishna Reddy, and the group owns about 35% stake. The company currently has operations only in Hyderabad.

The company has a room base of 575 in Hyderabad and owns three five-star hotels in the city. Indian Hotels Company manages the operations of all the three hotels under the Taj brand. Taj Krishna has been positioned as Taj Luxury brand catering to the top end of the market while the other two, Taj Banjara and Taj Residency are a part of the business brand. Taj Banjara is close to the business hub and hence quickly accessible to business users.

Financials
Taj GVK Hotels and Resorts posted a net profit of Rs 643.21 million for the year ended Mar. 31, 2007 on sales of Rs 2427.64 million. Total income for the year stood at Rs 2442.23 million. During the year, the company posted an EPS of Rs 10.26.

Future Plans
Taj GVK Hotels and Resorts plans to develop two more properties in Hyderabad, one at Begumpet and another at Hitec City, while investing about Rs 1 billion in its existing property for renovation and expansion.
