APW President Systems started in 1981 as President Systems. The company in the 90`s formed a joint venture with Vero Electronics of UK, which resulted in formation of Vero President Systems. In 1998, the company became a part of APW (Applied Power of the US), after which Vero President Systems changed to APW President Systems.
APW President Systems, headquartered in Mumbai, is a manufacturer of modular enclosures and caters to the electronics and data communication industry.
The company manufactures enclosure products and active equipments. Some of its enclosure products include floor standing, wall mounts, table racks,card frames, instrument cases, custom-designed enclosure systems and other tailor-made products. APW President`s active equipments include KVM switches and display products.
APW President has two manufacturing facilities one at Pune and other one at Bangalore. The Pune plant is spread across 23,500 sq ft and has manufacturing facilities as well as assembly cells and a microprocessor based anodizing facility. Its Bangalore facility is spread across 120,000 sq ft and is a fully integrated manufacturing plant, including hot phosphate pretreatment line, wet-paint and powder-coating paint shops.
The company has its own sales offices located at Mumbai, Bangalore, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune. It has distributors in other non-metro areas to increase its product reach. In order to meet the export demand, the company has appointed distributors in Dubai, Australia and Singapore. Some of the companies clients are Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Wipro, ITC, HDFC and BHEL among others.
Financials
The company reported a 60% jump in net profits to Rs 21.44 million for the quarter ended Sep. 2006 as against Rs 13.42 million during the corresponding quarter in the previous year. Sales for this period increased 42.2% to Rs 261.84 million from Rs 184.16 million.
APW President for the year ended Mar. 2006 had recorded 74.6% growth in net profits to Rs 62.83 million as against Rs 36 million during the previous year ended Mar. 2005. Sales for this period also increased 40.4% to Rs 771.4 million as against Rs 549.33 million. The EPS for the year ended Mar. 2006 stood at Rs 10.78.
Future Plans
The company is considering prospects such as stepping up of capacity at Bangalore; acquisition of office premises in major cities for its sales offices; and setting up of a greenfield project in a SEZ to cater to telecom, electronic and data business.
