Asahi India Glass (ASAHI), the largest integrated glass company in India, manufactures a wide range of international quality automotive safety glass, float glass, architectural processed glass and glass products. Promoted by Asahi Glass Company of Japan, Maruti Udyog, The Indo-Asahi Glass Co., and R.M. Labroo & Associates in 1985, the chairman is B.M. Labroo and Sanjay Labroo is the CEO and managing director of the company.
The company has products like float glass tempered glass, ceramic printed glass, heat soaked glass, PVB laminated glass, and insulated glass units. It operates under the three strategic business units of AIS Auto Glass, AIS Float Glass and AIS Glass Solutions. AIS Auto Glass is India`s largest manufacturer of world class automotive safety glass and meets over 81% automotive glass requirement of the Indian passenger car industry. AIS Float Glass is the leading manufacturer of international quality float glass in the country. AIS Glass Solutions is a value addition in the architectural glass business of the company addressing architectural processing and glass solutions, product and knowledge development and glass services of sales and marketing. The company has manufacturing units in Taloja, Rewari, Chennai and Roorkee.
Business partners include Ozone (glass fittings); Continuum Systems and Environmental Designs Solutions (software solutions), Dupont and Solutia Chemicals (laminated solutions). In 2006, it received the Supplier Performance award for best performance in quality from Mahindra & Mahindra.

Asahi India Glass registered a 315.81% growth in net profit to Rs 207.2 million for the quarter ended June 2007 from a profit of Rs 49.83 million for the quarter ended June 2006.
Net sales rose 30.21% to Rs 2,250 million for the quarter ended June 2007 from Rs 1,727.94 million for the quarter ended June 2006.
Total income rose 56.92% to Rs 2,724.9 million for the quarter ended June 2007 from Rs 1,736.47 million for the quarter ended June 2006.
The earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at Rs 1.3 for the quarter ended June 2007.

Asahi India Glass is planning to set up new factories in India and Russia for making automobile glass.
The company plans to infuse about USD 40 million to increase production capacity in India by 20% and open a factory in Russia. It is expected that the company will open its factory by the end of this fiscal so as to cater the rising demand in the two countries (India and Japan).
