Amrit Bansapati earlier known as Amrit Enterprises, was a trader in edible oils. It diversified into small scale production of HDPE containers using plastic granules as raw material, using leased equipment and rented premises. The company diversified further by setting up a plant for production of Vanaspathi and Refined Oils. Its plants are located at Rajpura (Punjab).

The promoter group was already experienced in the businesses of vanaspathi and refined oils. Amrit introduced soya refined oil in small packs under the brand name of Gaurav into the market, which was reported to have been accepted well.

The company`s registered office is at Rajpura in Punjab. J K Khaitan is its Managing Director.

Amrit Enterprises registered a decline in net profits of Rs 2.28 million for the quarter ended June 2007 from a profit of Rs 2.30 million for the quarter ended June 2006Net Sales increased 3.14 times to Rs 1731.30 million ended June 2007 from Rs 551.60 million for the quarter ended June 2006.Total income rose 213.61% to Rs 1732.64 million for the quarter ended June 2007, from Rs 552.48 million for the quarter ended June 2006.The earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at Rs 0.31 in the quarter ended June 2007 .

Amrit Enterprises informed that pursuant to the scheme of arrangement between Amrit Corp, ABC Paper and Amrit Enterprises sanctioned by the high courts of Punjab & Haryana, Allahabad and Delhi, the name of the company has been changed to Amrit Bansapati Company.
