Arvind Products (APL) is a subsidiary of Arvind Mills. The principal business segments of the company include manufacturing and marketing of voiles fabrics, bottomweight fabric and yarn. The company operates through its divisions viz. Arvind Intex, with both ring and open end yarn manufacturing under one roof, Arvind Cotspin, which manufactures 100% cotton yarn and double yarn in a wide range of counts and varieties, and Ankur Textiles, which manufactures voiles. Ankur Textiles also has its presence in the Swiss, Middle-East, and Sri Lankan markets to which it caters fine two ply plain as well as fancy cotton voiles.
The company has also introduced some unique and differentiated products such as PU coated, slubby, sulphur dyed, yarn dyed, blotch printing, pigment dyeing, double dyeing like reactive base with pigment topping and combinations weaves etc. APL has added up new customers in the USA and have penetrated deep in the UK.
Financials
The company reported a net profit of Rs 24.54 million for the quarter ended Sep. 2006 as against a loss of Rs 3.74 million during the corresponding quarter in the previous year. Sales for this period had increased 20.64% to Rs 1,160.93 million from Rs 962.34 million. APL, for the year ended Mar. 2006, had reported a 4.14% decline in sales to Rs 3,898.88 million as against Rs 4,067.37 million for the year ended Mar. 2005. The company reported a loss of Rs 73.42 million in FY06 as against a loss of Rs 82.58 million in FY05.
