B A G Films was incorporated in 1993 and is one of the leading integrated media and entertainment brand in India. The company focuses on television and film production, media education and new media and convergence. It also forayed into FM Radio and the animation industry in 2006.
B A G has six strategic business units, namely television software, film production, International School of Media and Entertainment Studies, animation, FM radio and news media. The company has produced popular programmes like `Poll Khol`, `Sansani` and `Kumkum - Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan`. The recently launched weekly programme, `Kaun Hai` on Star News enjoys a healthy viewership. The bi-weekly family drama newly launched on Doordarshan under the fiction space, `Woh Hue Na Hamare`, is also garnering viewership in the evening slot space.
B A G`s new media initiative includes video streaming, animation and gaming, interactive content for broadband and mobi-sodes specially developed for mobile phones and handheld devices. The company released the film `Zindaggi Rocks` in 2006 starring Sushmita Sen and Shiney Ahuja. The film was scripted and directed by Tanuja Chandra and Anu Malik composed the music.
B A G set up a wholly owned subsidiary, B A G Infotainment for its FM foray. With this, the company has bagged the FM Radio rights for Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, certain parts of Punjab, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

B A G reported a 4.72% fall in profits to Rs 7.87 million for the quarter ended September 2006 from Rs 8.26 million for the quarter ended September 2005. Sales for the quarter declined 3.62% to Rs 118.17 million from Rs 122.61 million as compared with the corresponding quarter, a year ago.
The company reported a 16.39% increase in sales at Rs 423.78 million for the year ended March 2006, as against Rs 364.11 million for year ended March 2005. Net profit for this period declined by 22.47% to Rs 26.16 million as against Rs 33.74 million. The EPS for FY`06 stood at Rs 0.44.

BAG Films & Media, through its subsidiary BAG Glamour, received a license for the forthcoming non-news and current affairs channels with the name E 24 and Life 24 from ministry of information and broadcasting.

The company announced the music launch of the movie `Zindaggi Rocks`. The film was produced and presented by Anurradha Prasad and written, directed by Tanuja Chandra.
Future Plans
B A G plans to release five films by 2007. The company is planning to use the co-production route with the objective of reducing the cost of production and increase revenue potential by releasing it to the international audience. The company`s vision is also to become the country`s integrated content company creating, aggregating and delivering high quality media and entertainment content in all genres and all media platforms.
