Cinevista Communication Ltd, promoted by Prem Krishen Malhotra and Sunil Mehta, was incorporated in the year 1993 as a partnership firm and later converted into a limited company in May 1997.
Cinevista was established to provide creative services to the advertising, film and television industries. The company is engaged in the production of TV software for Doordarshan (DD) and other satellite channels.
It is present in all activities of the production process, right from conception to getting the program telecast on TV and marketing airtime on DD. Cinevista produces programmes of different genre including drama, comedy, music, action, talk shows and count down shows. It is related to practically all leading TV channels in India including DD, Zee TV, Star TV, Sony Entertainment TV.
Cinevista is an efficiently run self-sufficient organisation with its own facilities, equipment and several teams of writers, directors, production and post-production and personnel.
In the year 2000 the Company formed a subsidiary, Cinevista Eagle Plus Media Pvt Ltd with the object of making feature films. The company is involved in dubbing as well as re-shooting programs in other states of India and in foreign countries like Sri Lanka and Middle East. It is also involved in airtime marketing.
Recent Developments
Cinevista has recently launched its a computer graphics division that supplements and enhances the services offered by Cinevista`s production, editing, dubbing and sub-titling divisions by providing desktop publishing, animation, special effects and non-linear editing (offline and online) services.
The company has tied up with Swarnavahini, a Sri Lankan TV channel to offer some of its programmes to local viewers. The programmes identified for the purpose will be replicated in Sinhalese, with slight modifications that might be necessary and shot in Sri Lankan locations.
Future Plans
Cinevista plans to diversify its production base to regional languages in India.
In order to breakaway from DD, the company is negotiating with various private satellite channels for telecast and is already begun the telecast of some programmes.
Cinevista will embark upon a major expansion plan in anticipation with entertainment media sector boom. It has plans to invest Rs 90 million in setting up an integrated studio and procure related equipments. It also plans to set up overseas production centers.
