Incorporated as a private limited company in the year 2000, it went public the same year. Earlier known as Starmax Infomedia, it got its present name with effect from Dec. 29, 2004.
The ISO 27001 and ISO 9000 certified company offers software products, solutions, and services to stock and commodities exchanges, intermediary brokerage houses, merchant banking operations and financial services in India and overseas. Mission critical solutions like matching solution and reporting systems are provided to major stock exchanges and tailor-made solutions to broking houses in India. Consultancy is offered with end-to-end services ranging from technology resource consulting - verification and validation to infrastructure management services. IT consultation through excellence centers provide strategic partners with business and technology experts to leverage offerings and provide maximum benefit to the business, technology, and end user communities.
Joining hands with Bombay Stock Exchange, Reliance Money, and Bombay Bullion Association, the company has launched its over-the-counter bullion trading platform in the country. The business buyout agreement with Cyberwerx in India has enhanced its IT consulting business and gives direct access to some of the top telecom clients like Nokia-Siemens, Airvana, CISCO and others. This move will expand its presence in the telecom vertical, testing, security, technical writing and networking.
A major force across all major IT hubs in India and the Middle East, the company has been appointed as exclusive partner in India by Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ). It is the preferred business partner of DOZ on a global basis for providing recruitment and human resource consultancy services, facility management services, and build, operate and transfer services. The client list includes Emirates Airlines, National Bank of Dubai, EDS, KPMG, Arab Banking, 01 Systems, ICICI Bank, Norwich Union, Unisys, 3M, Shamil Bank, IBM, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, and many others. Offices have been set up in India, Dubai and Bahrain.

IT People India has joined hands with Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Reliance Money and Bombay Bullion Association (BBA) to launch its over the counter bullion trading platform in the country. The tie-up was announced by Ketan Sheth, chairman & managing director of IT People and Sudip Bandyopadhyay, director & CEO of Reliance Money, at a press conference on Apr. 21, 2008.

IT People India announced that the company has entered in to strategic `business buyout` agreement with Cyberwerx in India. Cyberwerx Software Solutions is a leading organization in `telecom and networking` space and offers customers turnkey product development strategies and seamless team augmentation thus enables in `transfer of technology and process alignment` besides `testing and test automation` support. Cyberwerx Software solutions have its development center at Bangalore. Cyberwerx also supports its clients through extended development center (EDC).

The company has planned to generate additional resources to meet its expansion needs such as investment in technology infrastructure, product enhancement and business expansion.
