KCP Sugar and Industries Corporation (KCPSUGIND) is a diversified company with business interests in sugar, bio-products and engineering. The company was formed on Oct. 11, 1995 when it demerged from K.C.P. to get its current name.
The company has a sugar unit in Vuyyuru with a crushing capacity of 8,500 TCD and a distillery plant at the factory with a capacity of 50 KLPD producing bio-ethanol. A co-generation plant produces 15 MW of power per day. The second sugar unit in Lakshmipuram has a crushing capacity of 4,500 TCD with a 5 MW co-generation power plant.
The bio-products division offers nitrogen fixing bio-fertilizers like Azospirillum and Azotobacter; phosphate solubilizing bio-fertilizer called Bacillus Megaterium; Mycorrhiza - VAM (Versculor Arbinsular Mycorrhiza); aqua bio-fertilizer; Nitrosomonas and Nitrobachor for aqua culture; and bio control agents for pest control like Trichogramma chiloris and Chilocorus nigritus.
The engineering division manufactures solid liquid separation equipment through its subsidiary EIMCO-KCP. It provides raked bar screens suited for removing suspended and floating coarse debris such as weed, reed, and rags from surface water. These raked bar screens are particularly suitable for use in cooling water inlets, pumping stations and effluent treatment installations to sustain a pollution-free environment in industries such as mineral processing, chemical processing, food processing, refining, pulp and paper manufacturing, municipal and industrial water and waste water treatment. The division is ISO 9001 certified.
The company is diversifying with a 5 MT Co2 plant and a 250 TPA calcium lactate plant. KCP Sugars Agricultural Research Farms, a subsidiary, is engaged in carrying out research on various agri products in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu.

KCP Sugar and Industries Corporation registered a steep drop of 66.49% in net profit of Rs 48.67 million for the quarter ended June 2007 from a profit of Rs 145.22 million for the quarter ended June 2006.
Net sales declined 15.67% to Rs 797.33 million for the quarter ended June 2007 from Rs 945.49 million for the quarter ended June 2006.
Total income dipped 15.39% to Rs 810.98 million from Rs 958.465 million for the quarter ended June 2006.
The earnings per share (EPS), of the company stood at Rs 0.43 for the quarter ended June 2007.
Future Plans
The company is setting up a 250 TPA calcium lactate plant, which is primarily used in the pharmaceutical industry.
