Metalman Industries (METAI) is engaged in the manufacture and export of galvanized sheets and coils. It was incorporated as a private limited company on May 12, 1971 and converted into a public limited company on May 26, 1986. Earlier known as Metalman Pipe Manufacturing Company, it got its present name with effect from Jan. 16, 1996.
Products such as galvanized, plain and corrugated sheets and coils, cold rolled sheets and coils, black and galvanized pipes, precision steel tubes, hollow steel sections, and mild steel plates and chequered plates are manufactured and marketed by the company. These products find use in construction, irrigation, tube wells, water conveyance, automobiles, electric appliances, furniture, and other areas. It has its manufacturing units in the Indore and Dhar districts of Madhya Pradesh.
Another business activity is trading in various steel products including hot-rolled coils, cold-rolled coils, sheets, structural, tin plates scrap, shredded scrap and used rails. The company presently exports its products across the globe to countries such as USA, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Greece, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Egypt, South Africa, the Middle East and other Asian countries.

Metalman Industries registered a 1% growth in net profits to Rs 20.3 million for the quarter ended June 2008 from a profit of Rs 20.1 million for the quarter ended June 2007.
Net sales rose 6.06% to Rs 992.9 million for the quarter ended June 2008 from Rs 936.2 million for the quarter ended June 2007.
Total income rose 6.09% to Rs 993.3 million for the quarter ended June 2008 from Rs 936.3 million for the quarter ended June 2007.
