Incorporated in 1987, SQL Star International is in the business of delivering knowledge driven business solutions through technology. The company is headquartered in India with wholly owned subsidiaries in US, UK and Singapore.
SQL joined hands with Thomson Prometric to offer a wide spectrum of tests for career oriented IT professionals. Thomson Prometric is a part of the Thomson Corporation, the leading worldwide provider of comprehensive technology-based testing and assessment services. Global IT major Sun Microsystems has appointed SQL Star International as its authorised education partner in India. Red Hat, an open source solutions provider, has also selected SQL as its preferred partner for software and learning services.
The company has three subsidiaries i.e SQL Star International, USA, International SQL Star, Singapore and SQL Star International, UK.
Financials
The company reported a 72.88% growth in net profits at Rs 6.31 million for the quarter ended September 2006 as against Rs 3.65 million during the corresponding quarter in the previous year. Sales for this period increased by 40.74% to Rs 100.90 million from Rs 71.6 million.
SQL reported net sales of Rs 301.98 million for the year ended March 2006 . The company reported a loss of Rs 282.8 million in FY06.

SQL Star International restructured its business operations to lay more thrust on two key areas viz., customized technology training and wireless applications.The restructuring will provide the company with a new focus on tech education, which has been once its main business along with IT services.
Future Plans
The company is on a national expansion mode. They are targeting the untapped market of cities like Chandigarh, Lucknow, Vishakhapatnam, Coimbatore, Cochin, Indore, Bhopal, Jaipur, Nagpur and Trivandrum to set up their knowledge centers. SQL is planning tie-ups with colleges across the country to harvest talent for industry needs. It is also planning to raise funds to the extent of USD 15 million through issue of GDRs / FCCBs / ADRs or any other securities in the international offerings or in domestic markets. Further the company will discuss the proposal to acquire IT staffing companies in US.
