SRF, the flagship of the Arun Bharat Group, was initially set up for manufacturing of nylon fabric tyre cords. The company has over the years developed a diversified portfolio of businesses consisting of the industrial synthetics business, industrial fabrics business (belting and coated fabrics having application in conveyor belts) fluoro-chemicals business, packaging films business and the pharma chemicals business.

The company`s major revenue comes from the industrial synthetic business. It is one of the largest manufacturer of nylon tyre cord fabric globally and a market leader at home.

The company has entered international markets through its subsidiary SRF Overseas in Europe, Middle East and other countries in South Asia. The company has initiated trading of HFC-134a, as a substitute of CFC and captured a significant market share of the domestic market consequent to adoption of the Montreal Protocol. The company`s packaging films business is located at Kashipur, Uttaranchal.

Financials
S R F registered a sharp drop in net profits of Rs 490.90 million for the quarter ended March 2007 from a profit of Rs 555.10 million for the quarter ended March 2006.
Net Sales for the quarter rose 8.32% to Rs 4197.70 million for the quarter ended March 2007 from Rs 3875.30 million for the quarter ended March 2006.
Total income rose 8.61% to Rs 4242.4 million for the quarter ended March 2007 from Rs 3906 million for the quarter ended March 2006.
The earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at Rs 7.43 in the quarter ended March, 2007.
