Incorporated in 1985, Shardul Securities (SSL) is a flagship company of the Shriyam Group. The company is engaged in investment in equity, debt, merchant banking, IPO funding, advisory services and broking activities. Shiryam Broking Intermediary and Shardul Commodities International are the two wholly-owned subsidiaries of SSL. The list of clientele of the group companies includes commercial and cooperative banks, financial institutions, corporates of repute, foreign institutional investors and insurance companies. The company is housed in the main business district of Mumbai and has branches in Delhi, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Pune.
Financials
The company reported a 47.34% growth in net profits to Rs 45.78 million for the quarter ended Dec. 2006 as against Rs 31.07 million during the corresponding quarter in the previous year. Total income for this period had increased 48.14% to Rs 74.65 million from Rs 50.39 million. SSL, for the year ended Mar. 2006, had reported a 56.17% increase in total income to Rs 182.22 million as against Rs 116.68 million for year ended Mar. 2005. Net profit for this period also increased 46.22% to Rs 105.33 million as against Rs 71.79 million. The EPS for FY06 stood at Rs 6.02.
Future Plans
The company is actively pursuing its efforts to widen its clientele base in provident fund and corporate segment in the retail debt market.
