Sujana Metal Products (SMPL) was incorporated in the year 2000. It comprises four divisions - towers manufacturing, structural steels, TMT bars and international trade.

Two major products from the company are galvanised towers and TMT. It is amongst the top players in South India and has a significant presence in other markets. The company also manufactures a wide range of construction steel products that can be customized to user needs.

SMPL is also envisaging the introduction of value-added products like high voltage towers (above the 400 kva currently manufactured). The trading division of the company improves bottom-line and enhances the range offered to customers. It is also into telecom and power sector applications.

The Bollaram unit of Sujana Metal Products was awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification for manufacture and supply of structural and alloy steel sections. The company is looking at development of construction of steel with anti-corrosive treatment for coastal areas and re-rolled alloy steel products, epoxy coated structured steel products, ornamental steel sections and pre-fabricated structural, galvanized components for engineering applications, pipes, tubes for chemical industry.

Financials
The company reported net sales at Rs 7262.41 million and posted profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 439.58 million for the 12 month period ended Jun. 30, 2006 as compared to net sales at Rs 7003.72 million and profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 152.11 million for the previous year.

For the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2006, the net sales stood at Rs 2043.22 million and net profit stood at Rs 111.42 million as compared to the net sales at Rs 1991.34 million and net profit at Rs 69.86 million for the same period last year.

The scheme of arrangement between the company and Sujana Towers (STL) and also the amalgamation of Sujana Steels (SSL) with the company has been approved with requisite majority of the shareholders of the company.
