Tata-Yodogawa Ltd is one of the country�s leading roll manufacturers and suppliers. It is a joint venture that was promoted in 1968 by Tata Steel Ltd., in collaboration with Yodogawa Steel works Ltd., and Nissho Iwai Corporation, Japan. It installed and commissioned a centrifugal casting machine in 1992 in collaboration with M/s. Eisenwerk Sulzau-Werfen, Austria. The company manufactures state of art rolls for modern flat and long product rolling mills. Equipped with Japanese, European and Indigenous Technologies, TAYO has kept pace with the changing needs of the industry by developing rolls to meet the exacting demands for various applications.
In June, 1999, Tata-Yodogawa Limited have entered into a Sales Representative agreement and License and know-how Agreement with world renowned forged roll maker � Union Electric Steel Corporation, USA, for transfer of technology for finishing forged rough turned and hardened steel rolls. Thus TAYO is now one stop shop for cast as well as forged rolls.
The company�s rolls find wide application in key integrated steel plants and rolling mills, the paper, rubber, textile and food processing sectors, and the government mint.The company�s rolls are exported to Austria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran, Nepal, New Zealand, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, U.S.A., Germany, Kazakhstan, Taiwan, Qatar and Oman.
Recent Developments
For the quarter ended June 2002, the turnover increased marginally by 1.69 per cent to Rs 22.19 crore. The net profit increased by 215 per cent to Rs 0.8 crore.
