As the ages and technology

progressed the uses for copper increased. As per London Metal Exchange (LME) world production for 2007 was 17,974,300 Tonnes Per Annum.


Copper Market Forecast for 2011-12

According to the International Copper Study Group, the global growth in copper demand is expected to exceed the global growth in copper production and as per ICSG data the annual production deficit is estimated at about 253,000 Metric Tonnes ( MT) of refined copper in 2010 and is expected to increase to 377,000 MT.
