Jindal Saw Ltd (JSL), offering total pipe solutions including high grade Submerged Arc Welded (SAW) pipes, Ductile Iron (DI) pipes and seamless pipes has reported excellent numbers which are well above expectations. The PAT growth of 96.4% is mainly attributed to volume growth of 25% & 20.8% blended growth in EBIDTA/MT. Revenues on the other hand were down 11.4% at Rs 1,371 crore on account of falling average realizations across all product categories. EBIDTA/MT shoots sharply The Blended EBIDTA/MT for the current quarter stood at Rs 11,633 which is 20.8% higher as against Rs 9,629 per MT for Q4CY08. The higher margins are attributable to execution of orders in segments having higher profitability (particularly DI pipe & Seamless pipe segment) & improvement in efficiency in the seamless plant.
