Chennai-based TVS Motor may have saved itself another controversy. A day after rival Bajaj Auto announced its patent for its performance enhancing ''exhaustec'' technology, TVS Motor said it currently doesn''t use any technology resembling Bajaj Auto''s invention.

There was a design similar to Bajaj''s ''exhaustec'', but that has been discontinued before Bajaj got the patent, a senior TVS Motor official said.

He said the latest patent will not have any adverse impact on TVS Motor''s business. Bajaj was granted the patent on March 5, 2009.
