Mahindra Satyam has reinstated the variable pay for its 28000 employees that was cut-off due to cost cutting measures. The variable pay component varying between 10% and 30%, as part of the total pay package, was introduced in July 2006. While 25% of the variable component is guaranteed, the rest is performance linked.

Commenting on the news, T Hari, Chief Marketing Officer, Mahindra Satyam, said that the variable component makes-up 10–30% of the overall salaries.
