MUMBAI: SEBI has asked key Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group executives, including chairman Anil Ambani, to appear before it on September 3, after they failed to respond to show-cause notices issued to them. The case may relate to transactions by offshore entities in RNRL & Rel Infra shares.

Videocon is setting up a TV manufacturing unit at Manamadurai in Tamil Nadu with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore.

Tata Steel is in advanced talks with Thailand’s Sahaviriya Steel Industries for the sale of it’s UK based Teesside plant. Citigroup is the investment bank working on the deal and is said to have been in talks with SSI since May this year.

Blended tea is the new marketing mantra at McLeod Russel India, the world’s largest tea producer. The company, which has acquired gardens in Vietnam and Africa, has decided to set up a blending unit in Dubai which will cater to the global market.

Power Finance Corporation is likely to ask the government not to sell stake in the company, and instead allow it to raise fresh equity to meet the regulatory capital requirements of its fast-expanding business.

Saudi Arabia-based Saudi BinLadin Group has acquired 20 per cent stake in Maytas Infra for Rs 301.92 crore. SBG purchased the stake at Rs 196.05 a share, a discount of Rs 10 on the current market price of the scrip.
