Even as the Department of Telecom (DoT) attempts to prepare the ground for sending notices to several telecom service providers, it is an open battle between industry players, new and old. A few days after Tata Tele and Reliance Communication said that incumbent operators are hoarding spectrum, Bharti and Idea hit back saying that some telcos have far lesser active subscribers than they claim.

By late evening, former BPL Mobile promoter and Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar released a scathing four-page open letter addressed to Ratan Tata that says that the Tata position is contradictory on crucial telecom matters.
