Alfa Laval India is a global provider of specialized products and engineered solutions. Incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of STA, Sweden in 1937, it got its current name in 1987. Alfa Laval is now the holding company. Giuseppe Falciola is the managing director and Nish Patel is the managing director.

The company`s core strengths lies in separation, heat transfer and flow technology, automation and project engineering, and turnkey solutions. It has expertise in fabrication of stainless steel, titanium, monel, nickel, hastelloy and incoloy. It supplies plate and spiral exchangers, centrifugal separators and decanters, flow equipment and complete projects and systems. Manufacturing plants are in Satara, Sarole and Pune in Maharashtra. It manufactures plant, machinery and equipment used in dairies, vegetable oils, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, fertilizers, petrochemicals, ship-building, general engineering, ..etc.

The company is ISO 900:2000 certified. It has been awarded group manufacturing unit status by Alfa Laval, Sweden to manufacture centrifugal separators and decanter centrifuges for exports to Alfa Laval Sweden, Japan, Spain and Denmark. It has a project for six types of high-speed separators and 10 types of decanters valued at Rs 180 million. Tamil Nadu Newsprint & Papers gave the company a contract for an evaporation plant valued at Rs 380 million. The company has entered into collaboration with Steinoker, Germany to set up breweries on a turnkey basis. It has a sales network of 18 field offices in India and has executed projects in South Africa, China, Nigeria, Middle East, Turkey, Russia and Bangladesh.

Alfa-Laval (India) registered a 7.09% growth in net profits to Rs 200.98 million for the quarter ended June 2007 from of Rs 187.67 million for the quarter ended June 2006Net Sales rose 4.49% to Rs 1,481.00 million for the quarter ended June 2007 from Rs 1,417.42 million for the quarter ended June 2006.Total income rose 7.34% to Rs 1,550.27 million for the quarter ended June 2007, from Rs 1,444.2 million for the quarter ended June 2006.The earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at Rs 11.07 in the quarter ended June 2007 .

Future Plans
The company plans to double its manufacturing capacity over the next two to three years. The company would invest around Rs 2,000 million for the expansion plan. It has already doubled its decanter manufacturing capacity to 800 units.
