Allcargo Global Logistics (ALLCARGO) was incorporated on August 18, 1993 as a private company and was converted into a public company on January 17, 2006. It is a logistics service provider and was founded by Shashi Kiran Shetty, the chairman and managing director. ALLCARGO is a provider of less than container load (LCL) cargo in India.

Allcargo Global Logistics has five areas of operations; namely multi-modal transport operations (MTO), container freight stations (CFS), project cargo handling, airfreight, and transport logistics. Under MTO, the company offers end-to-end freight services for the export and import of cargo through multiple modes such as sea, road, air and rail with facilities like less than container load consolidation and multi city consolidation services. Under CFS, the company provides services like storage, handling, stuffing, consolidation of cargo and other value-added services. CFS facilities are provided by Transindia Logistics Park in Nhava Sheva, two in Chennai and Mundra, and a third inland CFS to come up by 2007. Handling capacities (TEUs) per annum are 120,000, 104,000 and 52,000 respectively. In project cargo handling, it undertakes turnkey projects like the transport of high value specialized equipments like oil field equipment or power plants.

ALLCARGO covers over 5,000 destinations across the globe and has a pan-India presence, with 16 branches, nine franchisees and regional offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata. The Company provides port-related logistics support services through CFS located at Nhava Sheva. Allcargo Global Logistics has signed a MoU with the government of Gujarat for international infrastructural logistics projects. The company has acquired ECU Hold N.V, Hindustan Cargo and recently acquired Transindia Freight Services, which owns and operates assets such as cranes, fork lifts, trailers and reach stackers.

The registered office of ALLCARGO is located at Mumbai, India.

Financials
Allcargo Global Logistics registered a steep drop of 20.21% in net profits of Rs 109.31 million for the quarter ended in December 2007 from a profit of Rs 137.00 million for the quarter ended in December 2006.

Net Sales rose 0.82% to Rs 858.51 million for the quarter ended December 2007 from Rs 851.52 million for the quarter ended December 2006.

Total income dipped 0.76% to Rs 866.14 million from Rs 872.75 million for the quarter ended December 2006.

The earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at Rs 5.40 in the quarter ended December 2007.

Allcargo Global Logistics announced on Mar. 19, 2008, following the extra ordinary general meeting, that the company decided to issue securities to Blackstone Group entities on preferential basis. The company will allot equity shares arising from the conversion of the FCCDs and / or the warrants.

Container Corporation of India Limited (Concor) and Allcargo Global Logistics have formed a joint venture company for establishing a CFS at ICD/Dadri, Greater Noida. The facility would be built at the Concor ICD and would cater to the container traffic from north India.

The Board of Directors of Allcargo Global Logistics has approved raising of funds to the extent of Rs 2,424 million by way of issuance of following securities / instruments to 'Blackstone Group and its Affiliates ('Blackstone'), on preferential basis.The company is planning to issue of 1,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each fully paid up of the company at a price of Rs 934 per share.Blackstone also plans to purchase additional shares of the ALLCARGO from the open market from time to time, but intends to maintain its ownership below 14.99%.

Allcargo Global Logistics will acquire 50 cranes at a cost of Rs1500 million for the project and equipments division of Transindia Freight Services.The company plans to acquire a combination of new and old cranes of 100-500 tonnes capacity to lease out for EPC contracts. The additions will take its fleet size to 100.
