Ansal Housing and Construction (AHCL), formerly known as Ansal Housing Finance & Leasing, is a construction and real estate development company incorporated in the year, 1983. The company`s principal activities involve the construction of malls, offices, hotels and residential townships and apartments. The company has developed many low and medium range residential properties, mainly in Northern India. AHCL`s residential townships include East End, Aashiana, Green Glades and Aavantika, to name a few. The company is in the process of developing more than 10 residential townships. Its completed residential apartments include Priyadarshini and Anand Dham. It is currently in the process of developing two apartments in Mumbai. The company has also developed malls, office spaces and hotels, which include Chancellor Club, Mega Arcade, Marriott WelcomHotel among others.
Ansal Housing & Construction had announced a phenomenal jump in net profits for the quarter ended September, 2006. During the quarter, the company`s net profit went up 2.29 times to Rs. 91.15 million from Rs. 39.89 million in the corresponding quarter. Sales for the quarter rose 82.40% to Rs. 477.90 million compared with the corresponding quarter, a year ago.
Financials
The company disclosed a substantial drop in standalone net profit for the quarter ended December 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 81.51% to Rs 30.32 million from Rs 164.04 million in the same quarter last year. Net sales declined 78.76% to Rs 530.50 million, while total income for the quarter fell 78.84% to Rs 532.71 million, when compared with the prior year period. It posted earnings of Rs 1.73 a share during the quarter, registering 82.38% decline over previous year period.

The company launched a new township project named `Ansal Town` at Meerut. This is a township project located at National Highway - 58 and the project is approved by Meerut Development Authority (MDA).

The company launched a group housing project called `Ansal Grace` at Jammu (J&K). The said project is expected to have a turnover of approximately Rs 650 million.
