Diamond Power Infrastructure (DIACABLE), earlier known as Diamond Cables, is a transmission and conductor manufacturer. Incorporated on Jan. 15, 1993, it got its present name on Oct. 12, 2007.

The ISO 9001:2000 certified company offers a comprehensive range of products such as power cables, high strength alloy conductors, HT/LT cables and wires, integrated units for power and distribution transformers. It provides complete turnkey services in transmission and distribution of power and is the country`s largest integrated power solutions provider.

The manufacturing units are spread across five locations in Western India with installed capacities of 32.000 MTPA aluminum and alloy rods; 50,500 MTPA aluminum-alloy, ACSR and all aluminum conductors; 5500 Km LT XLPE and PVC cables; 3,500 Km LT specialty cables; 100,000 Km wires and flexibles; 7,500 MVA power transformers ranging from 40 MVA to 315 MVA; 2,500 MVA power transformers ranging from 5 MVA to 40 MVA; and 5,000 MVA distribution transformers ranging from 1 KV to 5 MVA. Capacities under implementation include 2,500 Km high tension power cables upto 132 Km; 15,000 Km LT power cables upto 1.1 KV; 2,500 MVA dry type transformers; and 30,000 MTPA transmission towers.

With an outstanding order book position in excess of Rs 3,320 million, some of the recent orders bagged include the supply of 867 large power transformers to Middle East and 930 transformers for export to Africa for USD 17 million; and setting up of 139 transformer centers and erection and commissioning of distribution lines aggregating 382 Km for Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutikaran Yojna in Gujarat.

The company`s financial restructuring and successful growth story has been considered by the Indian Institute of Economics Studies, New Delhi for Excellence Award, 2007. Apex Electricals, a leading transformer manufacturing company, is a subsidiary. The client list comprises of electricity boards of state governments and other government bodies, TISCO, Kirloskar Electric Company, and Crompton Greaves among several others.

The registered office is located at Phase II, Vadadala village, Savli taluka, Vadodara-391520, Gujarat.

Financials
Diamond Power Infrastructure registered a 75.1% growth in net profit to Rs 133.18 million for the quarter ended December 2007 from a profit of Rs 76.06 million for the quarter ended December 2006.
Net sales rose 95.81% to Rs 1,269.56 million for the quarter ended December 2007 from Rs 648.37 million for the quarter ended December 2006.
Total income rose 96.57% to Rs 1,274.81 million for the quarter ended December 2007 from Rs 648.54 million for the quarter ended December 2006.
The earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at Rs 7.87 for the quarter ended December 2007.
