Lords Chloro Alkali (LORDSCHLO), incorporated as a public limited company on Mar. 01, 1979, is engaged in the manufacture of caustic soda and its related products. Earlier known as Modi Alkalies & Chemicals, it got its present name with effect from Aug. 06, 2008. After the Modi group split in 1979, the company has become a part of the K.N. Modi group of companies known as Modi Enterprises, which also include Modi Industries (vanaspati, paints, gas, soaps, electrodes, lantern and torch), Modi Spinning and Weaving Mills Company (Haryana Distilleries, Modern Spinnings, Vishal Syntex), Modipon (fibers division), Modi Cement, and Modi Champion.
Besides rayon grade caustic soda, the company also produces liquid chlorine, trichloroethylene hydrochloric acid, calcium hypo-chloride (bleach liquor) stable bleaching powder and hydrogen gas. The manufacturing unit is located in the Alwar district of Rajasthan with installed capacities of 84,150 MTPA caustic soda, 50,300 MTPA liquid chlorine, 39,600 MTPA hydrochloric acid, and 5,000 MTPA trichloroethylene. It has an in-house 12 MW power plant.
Caustic Soda and chlorine are required in paper and textile mills, soap, power houses, refineries and aluminum industries. Other products offered by the company find application in industries such as sugar, water treatment and used as raw materials for production of various chemicals and pesticides, metal, waning, finishing and solvent extraction. Products are sold mainly sold in northern region of India to institutes, government organizations, thermal power stations and state governments of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab from India through its well-established dealership network.
The Board for Industrial & Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) deciding on a reference made earlier, vide its order dated Nov. 30, 2006, sanctioned a rehabilitation scheme. Subsequently, the Rajasthan High Court had on 15.03.2007 sanctioned a restructuring scheme for the company for settlement of dues. The company is implementing the scheme.
The registered office is located at SP-460, Matsya Industrial Area, Alwar-301030, Rajasthan.

Lords Chloro Alkali registered a net profit of Rs 23.53 million for the quarter ended June 2008.
It recorded a net sales of Rs 250.02 million for the quarter ended June 2008.
