Silicon Valley Infotech (PRAGLOFI) was incorporated in 1983 as a public limited company under the name Prashant Products & Holdings. The name of the company was subsequently changed to Prashant Global Finance in 1985 and finally to Silicon Valley Infotech. PRAGLOFI is engaged in the business of granting loans and advances and investment in shares and securities.

As a part of the diversification program, the company had set up a 2.46 MW wind farm project at Kayathar in Tamilnadu. Elmostate Electron and Arihant Investment Trust, two companies that were engaged in the business of investment in share and securities and advancing short-term financing, were amalgamated with the company.

Financials
Silicon Valley Infotech posted a loss of Rs 5.1 million for the year ended Mar. 31, 2007 on zero sales. Total income for the year stood at Rs 314.34 million. During the year company posted a loss per share of Rs 0.04.

The board of directors of the company decided to change the name of the company. The board noted that the present name of the company does not reflect its present business activities and change of name is necessary. The board also decided to call off the proposal for amalgamation of Pentasoft Technologies, Chennai with the company in view of inordinate delay in obtaining approvals from the stock exchanges. The board also decided to withdraw the application filed with the exchanges for obtaining the approval for the scheme of amalgamation.

Future Plans
The company intends to invest in businesses related to infrastructure, telecommunication, software, ..etc.
