Promoted by the Delhi-based Ansal Group, Ansal Properties & Infrastructure (ANSALINFR) was originally incorporated as a private company on June 30, 1967. It got converted into a public company on Jun. 15, 1988. ANSALINFR is engaged mainly in real estate promotion and development of residential and commercial properties.
Ansal Properties & Infrastructure operates in the business areas of real estate promotion and development, education, environment upgradation, retail shopping malls, facilities management, township development, hospitality, hotels & clubs, hi-tech engineering, and overseas. Completed project include Ansal Plaza, Delhi and housing projects like Sushant Lok, Gurgaon and Palam Vihar township in Delhi. Ongoing commercial projects include Aerodrome (Amritsar), Galaxy Court (Panipat) etc; housing projects like Sushant Taj City (Agra), Sushant City (Kurukshetra) etc; retail properties in Ajmer, Amritsar etc. The company forayed into hospitality with the Marriott Welcome Hotel project, New Delhi; The Palms, Gurgaon; high-tech auditoriums; cinema calls; and a state-of-the-art multiplex. In industrial, it has the 75-acre SEZ in Greater Noida.

Clients include Apple, Aviva Life Insurance, Canara Bank etc. Some joint venture collaborators include HDFC Bank; Faber Group, Malaysia; Marriott Corporation, USA; and National Panasonic, Japan. Ansal Properties & Infrastructure has two agreements with IL&FS Investment Managers to develop a township and IT SEZ in Gurgaon, Haryana, an agreement with Fortis Healthcare Holding to set up a medicity at Sushant Golf City, Lucknow. Its subsidiaries include Ansal SEZ Project, Ansal Township and Infrastructure and Star Estate Management.

ANSALINFR a JV with Dubai-based Deyaar Development, is planning to develop a township comprising of residential, commercial, institutional and industrial properties in India. The company entered into a JV with Faber Group Berhad, Malaysia to take up hospital and healthcare projects.

The registered office is located at New Delhi, India.

Financials
Ansal Properties & Infrastructure registered a 21.70% growth in net profits to Rs 489.10 million for the quarter ended December 2007 from a profit of Rs 401.90 million for the quarter ended in December 2006.

Net Sales rose 18.80% to Rs 2285.30 million for the quarter ended December 2007 from Rs 1923.70 million for the quarter ended December 2006.

Total income rose 17.17% to Rs 2311.5 million for the quarter ended December 2007 from Rs 1972.8 million for the quarter ended December 2006.

The earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at Rs 4.31 in the quarter ended December 2007.

The Board of Directors of Ansal Properties and Infrastructure has allotted 1,00,00,000 Secured Redeemable Non Convertible Debentures (SRNCD) having the face value of Rs 100 each, for cash, at par (i.e. aggregating to Rs 1000 million) by way of private placement to LIC Mutual Fund, Mumbai (in short "LICMF"), having the tenure of less than 365 days.

Ansal Properties and Infrastructure has entered into a tripartite agreement with Edu Infrastructure, a subsidiary of Educomp Solutions, and Knowledge Tree Infrastructure for developing schools in its residential townships. Ansal Properties would develop the school buildings and lease it to these companies for operating and managing them. The company expects to leverage the experience of Educomp, a Delhi-based education solutions and service provider, for accentuating the education in its residential colonies.

Ansal Properties & Infrastructure has successfully diversified into power business. The company made this diversification with establishing and commissioning wind mills with a capacity of 12 MW, at Kutch, Gujarat.

Ansal Properties & Infrastructure, entered into a MOU, with UEM (Mauritius) Co., to form a joint venture (JV)company in India. The JV company shall carry out building construction and engineering works of various projects of the company situated in various states to give impetus to its construction activities in terms of quality and timeliness.

Ansal Properties & Infrastructure inked two agreements with IL&FS Investment Managers (IIML), the private equity arm of IL&FS, to develop two projects of township and IT SEZ in Gurgaon, Haryana. These projects, the township and IT SEZ in Gurgaon will be constructed spreading over 11 million sq. ft of office, residential and office space at an investment of approximately USD 125 million. These projects are expected to have a turnover of exceeding USD 1 billion over the next 5 to 6 years.

Future Plans
Ansal Properties and Infrastructure, the Delhi-based real estate firm, is planning to raise Rs 10 billion via a follow-on public offer (FPO) in the next year The proposed funds will be utilized for financing its ongoing real estate projects and also undertaking new projects in hospitality and education sectors. At present, the company has a land bank of 7,000 acres mostly in north Indian states.

The company is planning to set up around 30 hotels over the next 10 years. The company proposes to invest an amount of approximately Rs 20,000 million in the hospitality business over the next few years.

ANSALINFR is focusing on ushering in new lifestyle ventures in cities like- Greater Noida, Gaziabadh. Meerut, Agra, Lucknow, Batindha, Mohali, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Sonepat, Panipat, Karmal, Kurukshetra, Faridabad, Gurgaon to name a few.
