KMC Speciality Hospitals (India) (SEAHOSP) is engaged in the healthcare business. It was incorporated on Dec. 31, 1982 and went public on Jul. 06, 1992. Earlier known as Seahorse Hospitals, it acquired its present name with effect from Oct. 24, 2008. Through a share purchase agreement and open offer initiated in FY08, Sri Kavery Medical Care (Trichy) has acquired a 39.87% controlling stake in the company.
The hospital is a 175-bed super specialty center at Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu. It specializes in disciplines like neurosurgery, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, orthopedics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, gynecology, neonatology and nephrology (including renal transplants). Its angiocath lab has all the facilities for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty and balloon valvotomy. Various types of rooms such as deluxe, special, semi special, general ward, intensive care unit (ICU), neonatal ICU, intermediate care unit, and CTVB ICU are available.

KMC Speciality Hospitals (India) announced that loss for the quarter ended in September 2008 has narrowed. During the year, the loss of the company decreased 19.62% to Rs 8.77 million from Rs 10.91 million over the previous year period.
Net sales for the quarter increased three times to Rs 6.38 million, while total income for the quarter rose 236.63% to Rs 8.18 million, when compared with the prior year period.
The company posted a loss per share of Rs 0.7 for the quarter ended September 2008.
