Saregama India (SAREGAMA), a RPG Enterprises group company, is an integrated media-entertainment company. Popularly known as HMV, the company was incorporated on Aug. 13, 1946 as The Gramophone Company, was converted into a public limited company on Oct. 28, 1968 and got its current name on Nov. 3, 2000.
The company offers music cassettes, CDs, VCDs and DVDs with an extensive library of over 48,000 albums and 300,000 songs in 14 languages. In the digital space, the company has initiated retailing music through the Internet and satellite radio streams, digital downloads and mobile entertainment domains. The extensive songs catalogue is available online through an innovative venture called HamaraCD (hamaracd.com). This service allows music lovers to create a customized music CD and have it delivered anywhere in the world. Through its subsidiary, Saregama Films India, the company has diversified into the business of TV software and film making. The ISO 9001:2000 certified factory is located in Kolkota with a capacity of producing upto 60 million cassettes per annum.
Saregama India represents Warner Home Video, Paramount, Universal Pictures Entertainment, MGM and BBC in India, and is involved in artiste management, event management and theatrical film distribution. It has four regional offices in the metro cities, 13 branch offices, and over 200 distributors and dealers through a unique network of key accounts and corporate sales. Utilizing its strong distribution network, the Company has made inroads into the home video business. The company`s marketing arms RPG Global Music and Saregama Plc cater to international music markets including USA, UK, Europe, Canada, the Caribbean Islands, South Africa, South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East.

Saregama India registered a profit of Rs 20.4 million for the quarter ended September 2007.
It recorded a net sales of Rs 338.4 million for the quarter.
Total income was Rs 353.8 million for the quarter ended September 2007.
The diluted earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at Rs 1.64 for the quarter ended September 2007.
