Unimers India (UNIMERQ), incorporated on Nov. 20, 1987, is a manufacturer of ethylene propylene (diene) rubber (EPM/EPDM). Earlier known as Herdillia Unimers, it got its present name on Mar. 14, 2002. The company is part of the Duncan Goenka group with 20 operating companies and business interests in power generation, agro-based ventures, chemicals and petrochemicals, and frontier sciences like software and biotechnology. Duncans Industries, Schenectady Herdillia, Oxides & Specialities and Maharashtra Polybutenes are some of the other group companies.
The company manufactures specialty elastomers and impact modifiers for polyolefin under the brands Herlene EPDM and, Herlene IM using solution polymerization process technology received from the world-renowned Uniroyal Chemical Company (now a Crompton Corporation unit). These products have a wide range of applications in automotive, building, and industrial products. The manufacturing unit is located in Navi Mumbai with an installed capacity of 10,000 MTPA rubber EPM/EPDM products. Major export destinations include markets in USA, European Union, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, UAE, Oman, Sri Lanka and Turkey.
