Venky`s India (VENKYS), part of the Venkateshwara Hatcheries group, is engaged in the business of poultry breeding and production. It was incorporated on July 1, 1976 under the name Western Hatcheries and became a public company with effect from Dec. 21, 1988.
The company has a product line of Vencobb broilers; BV-300 layer and layer breeders, an indigenous breeding program; animal health products including antibiotics, vitamins and minerals, toxin binders and liver tonics, etc; poultry vaccines; specific pathogen-free (SPF) eggs; incubation systems; poultry farm equipment including automatic feeding systems; poultry feed; processed chicken under the brand name Venky`s; egg powder; nutritional health products; pet food and health care; de-oiled cake; biosecurity products and feed supplements.
With over 30 units spread across India, the company has hatcheries in Pune, Hyderabad, and Hosur; feed units in Osade (Pune), Solapur, Dehradun, Ambala and Allahabad; a solvent extraction plant in Solapur with a capacity of 120,000 TPA., a poultry processing plant in Kamshet with a dressing capacity of 4,000 birds per hour; and an egg processing plant near Hyderabad with a capacity of processing one million eggs per day. The company has a technical collaboration with SOA-FAS, US.
The company supplies day old commercial chicks to poultry farmers and hatcheries, poultry feed and feed supplements for use in farms and hatcheries, and chicken, processed chicken products and nutritional health products to consumers. The company has annual service contracts with multinational quick service restaurants like Dominos, Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken and McDonalds. The company exports to the UAE and other Gulf countries and Japan.
