Maytas Infra (MAYTASINFR) is one of the leading infrastructure development, construction and project management companies in India. It was incorporated as a private limited company on May 06, 1988. Earlier known as Satyam Constructions, it was converted into a public limited company with the present name on Feb. 09, 2007.
The ISO 9001:2000 certified company functions under the business segments of roads, expressways, and highways; buildings and industrial structures; irrigation canals and dams; thermal and hydro power projects. It has been providing services such as development of infrastructure projects, construction of infrastructure projects, and project management and forayed into the new business segments of airports, seaports, rail and rail based systems, oil and gas-pipelines, refineries and petrochemicals, water and water treatment, power generation, transmission and distribution, and industrial construction.
Some of the prestigious projects under buildings and structures include Singapore Class Township and Maytas Hill County - Hyderabad; Satyam Software Technology Centre - Hyderabad; T-Eternity Mall - Lucknow; and projects under construction like DG Map Residential Quarters in Kanpur, Chennai, and Lucknow. Dams and Canals built include the Podagada Earthen Dam - Orissa and Narmada Main Canal Works - Gujarat, among several others. Transportation infrastructure projects such as Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Project - Bangalore and part of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway have been successfully completed. Kalpong Hydro Electric Project - Andaman and Gautami Power Project - Andhra Pradesh are some of the major hydel and thermal power projects.
Conferred with the Fastest Growing Construction Company in India award from Construction World magazine and NICMAR, the company had an envious order book position of over Rs 38,900 million by the first quarter of 2007-2008. An EPC contract has been bagged valued at Rs 3.03 billion for construction of the Rajkot-Jamnagar section of the Bhadbhut-Jamnagar pipeline of Gujarat State Petronet in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. More recent order include the Hyderabad Metro Rail (MRTS) project in consortium with others valued at Rs 120 billion, green field proposed airport projects at Gulbarga and Shimoga in Karnataka on BOT basis, and two orders amounting to Rs 4,806.7 million for electrification of Beed & Nanded districts of Lathur Zone and Ahmednagar district of Nashik zone from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. under Infrastructure Development Plan.
International partnerships have been forged with major companies in the form of strategic alliances and joint ventures for BOT and other projects including Italian-Thai Development Public Company, Paschal-Werk G.Maier, Trafalgar House Constructions IJM Corporation Berhad, Cesma International, and several others. The company has aligned with major Indian companies such as ITD, Navabharat, IL&FS, Nagarjuna Constructions, GVK, Gayatri, Larsen & Toubro and others. It has currently joined hands with one of the leading construction companies in the Middle East to execute a prestigious infrastructure program and also tied up with China Railway for the execution of tunnel works in India. The company announced the inauguration of the Padalur - Samayapuram four-lane road on NH-45 in Tamil Nadu. Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways T. R. Baalu dedicated the 21-km long segment of the Padalur-Trichy four-laning project on National Highway 45 at a function held at Samayapuram.
Future Plans
The company will use the initial public offering (IPO) proceeds for investment in associate companies, namely Bangalore Elevated Tollway for the construction of the elevated highway project of the Bangalore-Hosur section of National Highway-7; KVK Nilachal Power for developing, constructing and commissioning a 300 MW coal-based power plant in Orissa; and SV Power for setting up a 56 MW coal washery reject based power plant and a 2.5 million metric ton per annum coal washery at Korba District, Chhattisgarh; purchase of construction equipment; and other project related investments and commitments.
