Federal-Mogul Goetze (India) Limited was established in 1954 as a joint
venture with Goetze-Werke of Germany. Goetze-Werke of Germany is now owned
by Federal-Mogul Corporation, a USD 6.3 billion global company and one of the
leading manufacturers of automotive components in the world. Federal-Mogul
Goetze (India) Limited is the largest manufacturer of pistons and piston
rings in India.
The product range manufactured by Federal-Mogul covers piston rings, cylinder liners, light alloy castings and sintered products. Federal-Mogul Goetze (India) offers its products under the `GOETZE` and `GOETZE BRICO` brand names. The company?s plants are located at Patiala, Rajasthan and Bangalore.
Federal-Mogul Goetze later diversified into the manufacture and export of food products, solvent oil extraction and chain of supermarkets. For its supermarkets chain, it entered into a joint venture with Nanz Germany and also set up a joint venture company, Nanz Food Products for the manufacture of meat and poultry products. In 1992-93, the company established a 100% EOU for leather garments to increase export earnings. But in 1998-99, this leather garments division was hived off into a separate company, GIP Leather (India), in joint venture with Speith & Wensky of Germany in which the company holds 70% equity. In 1995-96, a new company Brico Goetze (India) was set up in collaboration with T&N Plc for the manufacture of sintered metal components. The company is based at New Delhi, India.

Federal-Mogul Goetze (India) registered a 2.97% growth in net profits to Rs 44.02 million for the quarter ended March 2008 from a profit of Rs 42.75 million for the quarter ended March 2007Net Sales rose 18.93% to Rs 1781.40 million for the quarter ended March 2008 from Rs 1497.84 million for the quarter ended March 2007.Total income rose 18.76% to Rs 1868.09 million for the quarter ended March 2008, from Rs 1573.06 million for the quarter ended March 2007.The earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at quarter Rs 1.35 in the quarter ended March 2008 .
